All Camilla Deardon knows of the Mormons camping nearby is the songs she hears floating on the breeze. Then she meets one of them?a young man named Nathan Fox. Never did she imagine he would be so handsome, so charming, especially after Mama and Papa?s warnings to stay away. Though she knows she should obey her parents, Camilla can?t refuse her heart. But even Nathan?s promises cannot prepare her for what she will face in Utah. From the Author I have always said that God allowed me to write my 5 previous novels so that I would have the opportunity to write this book. No matter where my career goes, I know this will always be my most important novel. It was the most difficult, heart-wrenching, spiritally exhausting effort. There were times I felt each and every word had to be dragged through a battlefield to make its way onto the page.  But, at the end, I've never felt more immediately satisfied. I know God is pleased with this story and the truth it represents.Lately, I've taken some hits in the Reviews--a lot of 1- and 2-star reviews, largely from LDS readers. Dispiriting at first, but then peace. I never intendedFor Time and Eternity to be a vehicle to "convert" Mormons. I didn't want to take on the Mormon church, or the institution of polygamy--I just wanted to tell a story, accurate in both history and theology. If it is enjoyed only on that level, I've accomplished what every author wants to accomplish. Christian authors, though do have a bit of a higher responsibility. For that, I go to Galatians 1:10 -- Obviously, I'm not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ's servant. (NLT)That's the verse I cling to with every angry review and email. What a honor it is to be a servant of the Lord, and I'm so grateful to my readers who allow me to serve Him! About the Author Allison Pittman is the award-winning author of 8 novels. She makes her home in the San Antonio area with her husband, Mike, and 3 teen-age sons.
